Bombardier Aerospace at Biggin Hill is moving to Phase 3 of our expansion plans after only 18 months of Base Maintenance operation and is seeking experienced Aircraft Engineers, B1, B2 and C for its new Service Centre located at the London Biggin Hill Airport, United Kingdom. The London Service Centre will join an award winning Network of wholly-owned Bombardier Business Aircraft Service Centres; as well as a line maintenance station in Nice and Linz. In your role you will, • Troubleshoots, repairs, inspects and performs maintenance on customer aircraft. • Performs and documents all work performed per appropriate manuals and regulations as required. Minimum Requirements Qualifications • EASA Part 66 Aircraft Maintenance License B1 and/or B2 and/or C • Up to date basic knowledge requirements of Appendix I to Part-66 • Basic knowledge of Part-M, Part-145 and any other relevant regulations • Involved in at least 6 months of actual relevant aircraft or component maintenance experience in any consecutive 2-year period • You have experience working with our aircrafts (LearJet, Challenger 300’s, Challenger 600’s, Challenger 850 and Global Express) • Knowledge on, and practicing of, human factors, human performance and limitations • Knowledge on EWIS and CDCCL when relevant • Experience working during last two years on at least one aircraft type for each license (sub)category • Be current on all training requirements (recurrent/continuation training) • Ability to interpret and work with engineering drawings • Ability to effectively communicate in both written and verbal form on individual task and / or aircraft status • Ability to use standard tools, special tools and operate ground support equipment • Ability to work in accordance with the maintenance data and to notify the function responsible of defects or mistakes requiring rectification to re-establish required maintenance standards • Ability to use information systems (computer skills) • Experience on business jet aircraft is desirable LEVEL (Developing) - B1/B2 Line Maintenance Certifying Technician Minimum Requirements • Typically additional civil maintenance work experience • Demonstrated ability to train other employees • Part-147 approved type training (B1/B2) • Typically some experience in corporate / commercial jet experience, preferred • Engine run qualified, preferred Essential Functions • Train, coach and support other employees • Perform complete engine runs as required • Perform complex repairs on aircraft systems • Supervise Mechanics when carrying out maintenance tasks, and determine that relevant tasks or inspections have been carried out to the required standard • Release line maintenance tasks that are performed by him-/herself or under his supervision for which he/she is trained and authorized • Sign off base maintenance tasks that are performed by him-/herself or under his/her supervision, in support of Certifying Staff Category C • Perform maintenance at off-site locations • Assist when providing time estimates LEVEL (Career) – B1/B2 and C Base Maintenance Certifying Engineer Minimum Requirements • Typically a minimum of 3 years’ experience as Cat B1 and/or Cat B2 certifier and/or base maintenance support staff • Full proficiency of Cat B1/B2 or equivalent • Part-147 approved familiarization training on type (Cat C) Essential Functions • Ability to identify constraints and addressed, pro-actively prepare maintenance projects (e.g. organizing work stations, and efficient planning of tasks • Verify if Mechanics and B1/B2 Support Staff assigned (‘crew’) are qualified to perform the task(s) • Ensure Cat C tasks are delegated to other Cat C or senior B1/B2 when not available. Delegating duties does not relieve the Cat C of the overall responsibility for the crew • Understand that when also carrying out maintenance tasks, such tasks should not be undertaken when incompatible with the project-management responsibilities • Prioritize work, and coordinate/assign daily work plan to the crew • Ensure tasks as performed are in accordance with Bombardiers Maintenance Organization Procedures • Ensure that all required maintenance tasks are carried out, that all work accomplished is airworthy and, where not completed, that deferrals will be reported to the operator • Provide time estimates. Monitor efficiency, to ensure that scheduled man-hours are not exceeded, and coordinate overtime requirements with the Project Manager • Ensure crew maintains good housekeeping practices • Ensure all task-handovers are done at the end of the shift, as well as the shift-handover • Release aircraft and authorized, by signing the Certificate of Release to Service after base maintenance LEVEL (Specialist) -Senior Cat C Base Maintenance Certifying Engineer Minimum Requirements • Typically advance level of aircraft maintenance work experience or substantiated equivalent experience • Full proficiency of other positions listed above • Typically a minimum of several years of business jet experience • Perform role of temporary Project Manager as needed • Typically one (1) year Bombardier experience • Perform Cat C tasks for very complex or large inspections, e.g. 8C on a Global Bombardier Aerospace is an equal opportunity employer and encourages women, Aboriginal people, persons with disabilities and members of visible minorities to apply.
